Dr Alex Stewart works at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. She treats gynaecologic and ano-rectal cancers. She has a specialist interest in brachytherapy and completed a two year brachytherapy Fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard University in Boston during her training. She has developed the brachytherapy service at the Royal Surrey to deliver image guided gynaecologic brachytherapy, oesophageal and rectal brachytherapy. Alex has a strong interest in the clinical applications of brachytherapy and has written a number of textbook chapters on this subject, in addition to published papers. Alex holds an honorary contract at the University of Surrey as a Visiting Senior Lecturer and is the Clinical Lead for Oncology Research at the Royal Surrey.
