Krzysztof Bujko was born in 1951 in Poland. Hi was graduated as a medical doctor at Warsaw University in 1995. Then he underwent 2 years of training in the department of pathology. He passed board exam in radiotherapy in 1983.
In 1988 he defended Ph. D. thesis on radiotherapy of nodal disease in head and neck cancer.
He undertook radiotherapy training in the following hospitals: Jules Bordet Institute in Brussels, M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mount Vernon Hospital in London and University Hospital in Uppsala.
Since 1978 to the present time he works at the Department of Radiotherapy, Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology in Warsaw. He headed the department until 2010. He was nominated as a professor in 2008.
His main field of interest is radiotherapy of colorectal and anal carcinoma. He published 135 articles registered in the Scopus database. These articles were quoted approximately 5000 times. His Hirsh index is 42. He is married and has two children.
